Chain Headband

I’m not really supposed to blog now cause I have a zillion things on my to-do list. So much to do, so little time. But humans are ironic anyway…… Oh well.

Gonna be making a short step-by-step on my DIY gold chain headband. Made it for fun. Had always wanted to get one (doesn’t necessarily means that I’m going to wear it), but haven’t really seen ones that I actually like. Plus the better-looking ones are quite pricey, which I think I’d rather spend the money on something else.

Okay, we’ll need two things:

One:

A chain. Could be anything: an old necklace, bag chain. Anything. Mine’s an old, slightly-tarnished bag chain (mum’s) around 1 meter long (I have a big head).

Two:

A common hair rubber band. Preferably the sort with cotton strings wounded around it.

The theory goes like this:

The longer your chain, the shorter your rubber band.

The longer your rubber band, the shorter your chain.

Step 1: Folding

160720102193

160720102194

Fold the chain in exact half.

Mark the end (the dotted blue circle).

 Step 2: Securing

160720102196

Put your rubber band next to the marked point.

160720102197

Push your rubber band into one of the chain loops (try to find the ‘middle’ loop).

160720102198

Pull it halfway through.

Then take one end and slot it into the other loop of the rubber band. LOL. Lousy explanation. Just follow the arrows above.

160720102199

Okay, you should get something like this. Then as shown, pull that circled end as far as it would go.

160720102202

Have you got this?

Step 3: Final

160720102203

Bring the secured end to the other end of the folded chain. That’s supposed to be where the chain’s ‘latch’ is located.

160720102204

Super simple. Just secure the latch around the rubber band.

Done! =)

160720102205

LOL. Now this is easy. Just drape the headband on top of your head over your hair. If the size doesn’t fit, just try to adjust the rubber band’s length a bit.

Done! Goash. My fingers ache.

P.s. Thank you to my darlings who gave me my awesome birthday gifts! I love you guys. You guys know yourself (and me) well!

P.p.s. Sorry for the lack of blogging. Got tons of stuff to do =(

P.p.p.s. Click my ads! I’m soooooooo close to the sum I want! Please help. LOL. (I’m so pathetic.)

LOve,

KiKi
